April Ross

April Ross has won more than one Olympic gold medal. She is among the few women beach volleyball athletes that be able to do so. She is set to compete in Tokyo to compete for her third Olympic medal with Alix Klineman who is a first time Olympian. Ross's goal is to win her first Olympic gold medal. It could be the last opportunity she gets at age 39. However, she's confident that top honors are firmly in reach. Ross was mentioned by NBC Boston as saying that when you perform at your very best, even if you play well we will get the gold. "I'm trying to also try a little luck." Ross was born in Costa Mesa, California in the year 1982. Her parents and sister lived in the area. In addition to competing in various sport, she also attended Newport Harbor High School. In addition to the indoor game, she also was a basketball player and also ran track in her pre-college days. But she clearly was a cut above the rest in the latter sport. As a college volleyball season in her university bio, she was a middle-blocker, outside-hitter and setter. Her achievements were rewarded when she was named 1999 Gatorade's National Circle of Champions Player of the Year. In 2000, she was awarded the Orange County Athlete of the Year award in volleyball. Ross and Klineman may have started working together in the year 2017, however Ross was an experienced athlete at the beach prior to when they came together. In reality, she was a winner of multiple major tournaments in the past with two different partners. one of which is an icon of volleyball. Jennifer Kessy coached her from 2007 until the year 2013. Together, Kessy Ross was an ace on the international stage, claiming an international title in 2009. At the 2012 Olympic Games, they won a gold medal. Misty Maytreanor's legendary team and Kerri Jennings were the winners of gold. Ross Jennings replaced May-Treanor when she retired. In 2016, the pair won bronze in the Rio Olympics for beach volleyball. Ross played for the Trojans at USC during her the college years following her graduation from the high school she attended. The Trojans had a great career for Ross in the college level. She was a All-American as well as Pac-10 Freshman of Year in 2000 as a young freshman. Her Trojans made it to the Final Four. In her sophomore year, she suffered a tremendous personal setback, but she was able to make it back as an All-American. The last two years in the Trojans in the program they won victories by winning successive national titles. She was a fantastic volleyball player, winning the Honda Sports Award in 2003-04 as the most outstanding female college volleyball player. Ross majored at USC in International Relations. Margie Ross wasn't able to watch her daughter's rise to beach volleyball fame. As of 2001, when Ross was a sophomore in USC her mother died of breast cancer. Ross is still awed by her parents who passed away. In addition, Margie is an ongoing source of inspiration to her on the beach as well as in everyday the world of.
