Zoe Saldana was born on the 19th of June, 1978, in Passaic, New Jersey, to Asalia Nazario and Aridio Saldana. Her father is Dominican while her mother was Puerto Rican. Her birthplace was in Queens. Her family moved to Dominican Republic at the age of 10, and there they would spend the next seven year. As they remained in the country, Zoe discovered a keen passion for performance dancing and began her training at the prestigious ECOS Espacio de Danza Dance Academy where she learned ballet and other forms of dance.
